Message from the Minister
I am delighted to have this opportunity of introducing our church to you. We are a congregation in the Methodist tradition but are more concerned with Christian faith and witness than with denominational differences. Christians from a variety of backgrounds have made this their spiritual home and have added to the diversity and breadth of our church. We believe that we can meet a wide range of needs within our church life and hope that you will feel at home with us and able to join us in our pilgrimage together.
Refurbishment of the whole of our premises finished in 2000, including the Cornerstone, a suite of rooms with a coffee shop and other facilities. This gives us a worship and mission centre for the next generation of Christians. At the centre of all we do is our Worship of God and we
attempt to do this with both contemporary and traditional ‘styles’ of worship. We have very good organists and a growing worship band which is always pleased to welcome new musicians. There is an emphasis on work with young people and on a Sunday we have a creche, Sunday School, called Explorers, and a Youth Fellowship. There is also a weekly Youth Club. For adults there are House Fellowships, prayer groups and a ladies’ meeting.
We believe our church is a family church with a welcome and range of activities for all ages. My prayer is that you will feel able to be a part of our Christian family here. I would be delighted to visit you and share with you if you felt this would be helpful.
