PARTNERSHIP WITH PATNA The Bishop of Patna will be attending the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in late May. The Presbyterian Church along with the Anglican and Methodist Church and some other smaller denominations formed the Church of North India. Representative Bishops of the Church of North India are therefore invited to the General Assembly, to the Lambeth Conference and the Methodist Conference.
He will then visit the Ashbourne area between 1 - 5 June. He will be staying with the Revd. Christopher Harrison in Parwich. The Patna Steering Group is arranging a programme for him. He will preach at an Ecumenical Service to be held in Ashbourne Methodist Church at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 4 June. We do hope as many people as possible will be at the service.
Work has started on the roof of St. Luke's Hospital, Hiranpur. As most of the roof leaks it is often necessary to stop operations and close wards in the monsoon. We hope that our first £4000 will be used to make part of the roof secure before the next monsoon season. The next £4000 is in the bank but work still has to continue to raise the final £4000.

PICNIC IN THE PARK

All members of the Ashbourne Churches Together are invited to attend a "Bring and Share" picnic on Sunday, 30 June on the Recreation Ground. We shall meet at 12.30 p.m. for 1.00 p.m. Games will be organised for the children so bring along any bats and balls. If it is wet we shall arrange an alternative venue.
